A recent survey released by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister shows that average property prices in the South West are outperforming those of the UK as a whole.
The English region with the highest average house price in April 2005 was, unsurprisingly, London at £263, 525, and the lowest was the North East at £128,053.
Only four regions had average prices above the UK average: the East, London, the South East and the South West.
